POLARISED SUNGLASS LENSES

Polarised lenses eliminate glare giving the wearer more comfortable and clearer vision in bright sunlight. They are ideal for drivers, water enthusiasts and skiers.

Lens colours include Grey, Brown and occasionally others - Green, Rose and Blue depending on the lens manufacturer.

Polarised lenses can be fitted into any full-frame spectacles including many Designer Sunglasses and look like normal sunglass lenses.

Oakley sunglasses can be fitted with Black Iridium, VR-28, Bronze and Grey Polarised lenses in single vision and varifocals. Available at selected Mackey Opticians branches.

PHOTOCHROMIC LENSES - TRANSITIONS AND SUNSENSORS

Photochromic lenses change with different light levels, going dark with bright light and increased UV. There are several manufacturers of Photochromic lens for plastic lenses including Sunsensors and Transitions with differing qualities of tints and reaction speeds.

Transitions VI is generally recognised as the quickest darkening photochromic lens and is available in Grey and Brown. Ultra-thin and light materials, and now MaxVision SV and Varifocal lenses can be made with Transitions VI.

COMPLETE PRESCRIPTION SUNGLASSES

Mackey Opticians offer a wide range of Prescription Sunglasses from just £89.00 complete with single vision lenses.

Options include full tints, graduated tints, polarised and transition lenses in a variety of colours. Varifocal and bifocal lenses are also available.

Many branches stock Designer Sunglasses which can be made to prescription including Guess, Ocean Blue, Gucci, Dior, Prada and more. Please phone your local branch for details.

SPORTS SUNGLASSES

Many of our practices offer Sports sunglasses and solutions for spectacle wearers who enjoy sports such as cycling, golf, sailing, running and many others.

Our ranges include:

• Bolle - sunglass sponsors to the UK 2012 Olympic team - now with the widest prescription range from any manufacturer from +6.00 DS to -8.00DS and 4.00 DC astigmatism. Available in 16 lens colours including polarized lenses and varifocals, Bolles new "b-thin" technology now serves 95% of all spectacle prescriptions. Marine lenses come with floating headbands.
• Oakley - fitted with Oakley lenses, Polarized and Iridium coatings in most of their styles with prescriptions from +2.00DS to -4.00DS, and some up to -7.00DS. Available in Single Vision and Varifocals.
• Cebe - a cheaper version to Oakley and Bolle - many are available with headbands which are ideal for sailing.
• Adidas - available with lens inserts. Can solve most prescription needs.
• Kaenon Polarized - high quality specialist sports sunglasses from USA. Available at Bangor practice only. Prescription service via USA
