Get properly fitted spectacles for your children
It is essential that children have properly fitted spectacles. They must be both comfortable and also centered properly so that your child looks through the correct part of the lens and doesn't look around the sides of his or her new glasses.The shape of the spectacle lens should be deep enough to ensure that they don't look over the top of them either, and the correct side length chosen so that they can be adjusted to stop them slipping down your child's nose. A large range of frames is essential so that you can choose the correct shape to fit your child's face and head.
Mackey Opticians have a huge range of kids frames and many are free of charge under the NHS Voucher scheme. Some "designer' frames cost a little more - Bench Kids are £29.00 while No Fear and Ben 10 are only £15.00.
We also customise frames for babies with curl sides and elastic to try and keep them in place.
All children and teenagers under 19 and in full time education get free eye examinations and help through the NHS Voucher scheme towards their spectacles.
